Birthday Alert V2.0

This app searches through your address entries for upcoming (or recent) birthdays or other dates in your address entries. It will list the name, age, day, date, and number of days away for each entry. The entries are sorted by days away.

The number of days ahead and days back it looks is configurable - press the M in the top line and select Set Days Ahead. Days back can range from 0 to 14, while days ahead can range from 1 to 90. All entries can be listed by pressing the List All button at the bottom of the screen.

If you have entries marked Private you want to view, you can either unlock the Avigo using one of the other apps, or you can enter a password into the Birthday Alert program by pressing the M in the top line and selecting Set Password. In the box that appears, tap the blank line to bring up the keyboard. Enter your password (in all CAPS) and accept the entry in both the keyboard box and the password box by tapping the check mark. The password is stored with the program and when the program is run while the Avigo is locked, the stored password will be used to unlock the Avigo only while the program is running.

If more than 8 entries are within the date range, page arrows will appear at the bottom. Use them or the page keys to scroll up and down. The maximum number of entries is 200. (Anyone have more than 200 birthday/anniversary/etc?)

You can add up to 8 custom fields to the address table. If any are created as Date entries, they will be checked. When they fall in the date range, the custom field name will be listed on the first line to the right of the name. For example, you can name two of the fields as Spouse (or Sp. Bday, if you want to use Spouse for the name) and Wedding, and make them Date fields. Place a date in the fields, and they will be checked like birthdays. Other non-Date fields will be ignored. Note that if you create custom fields, they will be added to existing entries when you edit it. The date will default to the current date - set it to No Date if you don't want to check it.
